Bio

Jenna is a License-Eligible Counselor currently working towards licensure. She graduated from William and Mary with a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health and Addictions Counseling in 2019. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and is currently under supervision to become a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC).

 

Jenna has experience working with adolescents and adults of all ages. Prior to coming to River City, Jenna worked in a residential facility providing group, individual, and family therapy for adolescents. She has also previously worked with college-aged students navigating the challenges that the transition into college and young adulthood brings. She has experience working with a variety of presenting problems including depression, anxiety, difficulty regulating emotions, conduct-related behaviors, substance abuse, family separation, trauma, and more.

 

Jenna is passionate about creating a therapeutic environment of unconditional acceptance and positive regard with clients. She utilizes a strengths-based approach and enjoys assisting clients in their journey of developing their fullest potential and learning to thrive in their environment. Within this framework, she incorporates strategies from a variety of different theories depending on the specific client including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

 

In her free time, Jenna enjoys walking and hiking, reading, being outside, and spending time with loved ones.
