Bio
Jamie is a License-Eligible Social Worker currently working toward Licensure. Jamie graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology from Old Dominion University in 2016. She then went on to earn her Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018.
Jamie strives to create an environment of trust, respect, and acceptance for her clients by establishing a strong rapport as the base. Jamie believes in providing a safe environment where clients can find clarity and resolutions to issues that are negatively affecting their lives. Jamie primarily promotes self-reflection, insight, and self-awareness by utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy and strength based therapy to assist clients in promoting a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
Before coming to River City Counseling, Jamie worked as a Program Coordinator for Therapeutic Day Treatment where she worked in different schools assisting children who suffered from emotional or behavioral issues that created a barrier for their effective learning. Jamie has also previously worked with adults struggling with homelessness and as a medical social worker for both adults and adolescents.
In April of 2021, Jamie sat for and passed her LCSW licensure exam.

In her spare time, Jamie enjoys reading, entertaining friends and family, and spending time with those she loves.
