To our current clients, those individuals in need of services, and our community partners:

The River City Counseling Group (River City Comprehensive Counseling Services and River City Integrative Counseling) is committed to the health, safety, and welfare of our clients, our staff, and our community partners. We are working tirelessly with federal, state, and local regulatory authorities, as well as hospitals, clinics, and our community services boards to prevent the spread of COVID-19. At River City, we consider ourselves primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare responders with the responsibility to provide accessible mental health and substance use services to those we serve. We understand that this pandemic has increased our client's and community's feelings of anxiety, panic, stress, isolation, and depression. Some turn to substance use and other self-destructive behaviors. As such, our programs and services will remain in operation at this time to ensure that those who rely upon us can continue to do so.

River City has made modifications to our programs and services to reduce the spread of COVID-19 while still providing our clients and the community with the same quality mental health and substance abuse services that they have been used to since 2009. Currently, these changes are as follows, but may change daily:

  • Community Based Program (Intensive In-Home, Mental Health Skill Services): Our Mental Health Counselors will continue to meet with clients as necessary. We are also offering clients the option of conducting counseling sessions via Telehealth appointments. We will continue to accept new referrals and clients.

  • Outpatient Therapy and Counseling: Our Therapists will continue to provide therapy sessions via Telehealth appointments. One of our administrators will be contacting each Outpatient client to provide them with instructions on how to access their Therapists remotely. We will continue to accept new referrals and clients.

  • Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program: Individuals referred from VASAP will continue to receive the treatment and monitoring required by the VASAP program. One of our administrators will be contacting each VASAP referred client to provide them with instructions on how to access the Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program meetings remotely.

Referrals and New Appointments: River City believes that mental health and/or substance use services should be accessible, especially during this critical time with COVID-19. If you or someone you love are seeking mental health and/or substance use services, please call 804.681.2525. If we are unable to answer your call immediately, please leave a detailed message and we will return it as soon as possible.

Our Office (5511 Staples Mill Road, Suite 300): This office is currently closed to the public in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please call 804.681.2525 and/or visit our website for any additional updates.
