COVID-19 Operations Update

 5.24.2021

To our current clients, those individuals in need of services, and our community partners:

The River City Counseling Group (River City Comprehensive Counseling Services, River City Integrative Counseling, and River City Residential Services) remains committed to the health, safety, and welfare of our clients, our staff, and our community partners.

As we continue to navigate COVID-19 together, we are fully aware that this time is sensitive for many and will require increases in service frequency and an ongoing dedication to onboarding new clients as our population manages the stress, anxiety, panic, isolation, depression, and other self-destructive behaviors as a result of COVID-19.

River City has made modifications to our programs and services to reduce the spread of COVID-19 while still providing our clients and the community with the same quality mental health and substance use services which we have been known for since 2009. Currently, these changes are as follows, but are subject to change at any time:

  • Community Based Programs (Mental Health Skill Building Services, Intensive In-Home): We are recommending telehealth appointments to all clients, however our Mental Health Counselors will continue to meet Face to Face with clients as necessary or as the client prefers.

  • Outpatient Therapy and Counseling: Our offices at 2604 N Parham Rd are open to the public, however we still recommend and encourage virtual therapy and telehealth sessions to our clients. Our clinicians have done a wonderful job in assisting our clients with feeling comfortable in receiving their sessions virtually and are well-versed and familiar with our telehealth platform. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) groups do meet at the physical location throughout the week and observe CDC guidelines for social distancing. All clients, visitors, and staff are screened upon entry and masks are required. In effort to minimize the transmission of COVID-19, anyone who is experiencing or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 may not enter the office space.

River City has also recently added the Vollara Air and Surface Pro purifiers to our office                                location. Using NASA-certified and originated technology, the Vollara Air and Surface Pro has               been tested by the FDA and shown to eliminate 99.96% of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus which                               causes COVID-19) in 3 minutes. Using the ActivePure technology (which is also used in the                         International Space Station for air purification), the Air and Surface Pro also eliminates                            99.98% of bacteria on surfaces, assisting River City in greatly reducing the spread of COVID-                  19 within our office location. For more information on the Vollara Air and Surface Pro, please                    click here.

  • Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program: These groups have been transitioned fully into telehealth and virtual therapy sessions. Clients are attending more meetings due to their increased availability and are meeting the requirements of their court orders faster than ever before!

  • Referrals and New Appointments: River City believes that mental health and/or substance use services should be accessible for all, especially during this critical time. If you or someone you love are seeking mental health and/or substance use services, please give us a call at 804.681.2525. If we are unable to answer your call immediately, please leave a detailed message and we will return it as soon as possible.

  • Our Office (2604 N Parham Rd): Our office is now open to the public. In the event that you are experiencing any issues associated with COVID-19, we ask that you do not visit our physical location.

Please give us a call at 804.681.2525 for more information or additional updates.
